MoU between GNDU-PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Amritsar- In a significant and historic development  Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar and   PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry(PHDCCI), New Delhi, a largest and dynamic multi-state organization in India joined hands together for cooperation to develop the skill development and entrepreneurship in Punjab by signing MoU.

The MoU was signed by Prof. (Dr). Jaspal Singh Sandhu,  Vice Chancellor and Anil Khaitan, President of PHD Chamber of Commerce of Commerce and Industry in the presence of  Anju Bajaj Chairperson, Kanchan Zutshi Secretary, Registrar, Dean Academic affairs, Coordinator University Industry Linkage. Renowned industrialists from Punjab who participated in the signing of MoU include Jaideep Singh,  Deepak Khanna, P.L Seth, Rajiv Khanna, Jasdeep Singh Makkar, Rakesh Thukral. Dr. Preet Mohinder Singh Bedi, Coordinator University Industry Linkage Programme.

Guru Nanak Dev University informed that both parties agreed to work on common interests to push forwarded India growth story. They have agreed to develop synergistic collaboration for cultivate the strong links with industry and academia, for cooperation in Industrial Research & Consultancy, Industrial testing, joints patents, sponsored industrial research projects, Research guidance from industry and University and conducting joint research activities on crucial scientific and economic areas. Programmes.

It will also provide continuing education to people working in industries so that they can upgrade their technical knowledge, and  obtain higher degrees; this orients the faculty members towards the industry from the portals of University i.e. Academics. Prof Sandhu said “ a major development objective for the Punjab is to strengthen its human resources ,particularly the youth so as to make them skilled and employable. We want to work with the PHDCCI for exposure of entrepreneurs of Punjab in the national network of entrepreneurship and business development and to bring best practices and exchange of programmes.”

Anil Khaitan informed that his organization will help in setting up Technology and Innovation Support Center network which provides innovators in university to locally based, high quality technology information and related services, helping them to exploit their innovative potential and to create, protect, manage their Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs). Khaitan and industrialists appreciated the efforts of University Industry Linkage Cell of the university for its efforts to strengthen the ties between industries and university.

“This is a major breakthrough for both the parties as collaborative efforts with their respective strengths would not only fruitful for their respective organizations but also for the overall socio-economic development of the country” said Anju Bajaj, Chairperson PHDCCI.
