GNDU to conduct admission test for Int’l Earth Science Olympiad-2019

The Geological Society of India will be conducting admission test for International Earth Science Olympiad-2019 on January 19, 2019 (Saturday).

The responsibility for the conduct of examination at Amritsar centre has been given to Prof. Avinash Kaur Nagpal, Botanical and Environmental Sciences for the second consecutive year by the Geological Society of India. The venue of the Amritsar centre will be Guru Nanak Dev University.

This test is for students studying in ninth, tenth and eleventh standards of Punjab. Test Center Incharge Prof. Avinash Kaur Nagpal informed that the main objective of IESO-2019 is to encourage students, increase awareness and training of earth sciences at the school level.

GNDU to conduct admission test for Int’l Earth Science Olympiad-2019

Top 30 students will be selected for participation in 25 days training camp in May 2019. Which will comprise of lectures, discussions, planetarium visit, lab & field work. The Indian National Earth Science Olympiad will be held at the end of the camp.

The top four students will represent India at the 13th IESO in Daegu, South Korea. This will encourage friendly relations between young students of different countries. She also informed that this is a special opportunity for international co-operation in the exchange of Earth Sciences education, ideas and materials.
