GNDU to host three-day state level flower show from 18 December

Guru Nanak Dev University is hosting third flower and plants show along with rangoli and seminar from December 18 to 20 around Shri Guru Granth Sahib Bhawan building of the University. This event is dedicated to the renowned poet literary Bhai veer Singh.

Dr. JS Bilga consultant horticulture said that this event is been organised under the guidelines of Professor Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice-Chancellor to create the awareness among masses in general and in students about the importance of beauty and clean environment around them. The similar flower show and seminar was also organized. Last year seminar was attended by a known figure in the field of flower seed production, Avtar Singh Dhindsa who highlighted the value commercial floriculture.

His talk was highly appreciated among flower lovers and growers.In the flower show, different varieties of chrysanthemums, roses and ornamental plant shall be displayed. Rangoli with flower ports and artificial material shall be the main attraction of the show.

Dr. Bilga said that entries for all port plants and rangoli shall be received between 10 AM to 4:00 PM on Tuesday the December 18. This flower and plants exhibition on Wednesday 19th December at 1 PM. The price distribution winners held on 20th December. The experts from punjab agriculture university would deliver their lectures about the ornamental and commercial scope of horticulture. All the arrangements for the exhibition have been completed.
