GNDU tracked amongst top 4 Institutions in by Nature Index

Guru Nanak Dev University has been tracked by Nature Index amongst Top Four Institutions in Punjab and Top 10 Institutions in North India. Nature Index is a Prestigious Database of Nature Research including Author Affiliations and Institutional Relationships for high quality research output and collaborations, said Prof. Jaspal Singh Sandhu Vice Chancellor.

He said that other three institutions of Punjab are IISER, Mohali, IIT Ropar and Punjab University, Chandigarh, whereas Top 10 Institutions of North India include University of Delhi (DU), Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT Mandi) besides Four institutions of Punjab, he added.

Prof. Sandhu said that the index tracks contributions to research articles published in 82 high-quality natural science journals, chosen by an independent group of researchers. He said that Data in the Nature Index are updated regularly, with the most recent 12 months made available under a Creative Commons licence.

He said that the database is compiled by Nature Research. The Nature Index provides absolute and fractional counts of article publication at the institutional and national level and, as such, is an indicator of global high-quality research output and collaboration. The Nature Index uses article count (called Count) and fractional count (called Share) to track research output, he added.

The members of syndicate & senate, University fraternity and other dignitaries congratulated Prof. Sandhu for this achievement.
