The present work will be an extension of the work already done and will go deep into documenting the versions of descendants of the Saragarhi Martyrs. Briefing on the occasion G P S Josan mentioned that 19 out of 21 families/descendants of Saragarhi Martyr have already been identified and another two, who are expected to be in Pakistan, will also be located soon. Documenting the versions of descendants will provide deep insight into the battle that so far has not attracted due attention of Historians.

The Battle of Saragarhi was fought before the Tirah Campaign on 12 September 1897 between Sikh soldiers of the British Indian Army and Pashtun Orakzai tribesmen. It occurred in the North-West Frontier Province (now Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan).
