Good news, bad news for Punjab SC Commission; 2 major decision taken

Now a day’s Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission is in limelight for some good news and for some bad news.
After the active intervention of Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission, Gram Panchayat Ghanauri Khurd cancelled anti-labour resolution.
Informing about this Chairperson of the Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes Tajinder Kaur (Retd. IAS) said that Deputy Commissioner Sangrur has submitted written report to commission in this regard.
As per report Gram Panchayat Ghanori has also cancelled the resolution and submitted written commitment that they will be extra vigilant in the future while passing any resolution.
The commission has specifically asked Sangrur deputy commissioner to conduct an inquiry into such resolution passed by Ghanauri Khurd panchayat, which threatened the labourers of social boycott if they demanded more rates than stipulated.
And the bad news, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has approved suspension of Poonam Kangra as non-official Member of Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes, following the registration of an abetment to suicide case against her.
Following the Chief Minister’s clearance, the State Government has placed Kangra’s membership under suspension with immediate effect.
Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson said that the Chief Minister had also ordered an inquiry against the Kangra, who was arrested, along with her husband and son, by the Sangrur Police a few days back.
