    Government aims to make Himachal one of the most progressive and prosperous states of the country: CM

    Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu was the Chief Guest in the ‘Swarna Jayanti and Himachali Milan Karyakram’ organized by the Himachal Social Bodies Federation at New Delhi today.

    While addressing the Himachalis on the occasion, the Chief Minister congratulated them for preserving the identity and culture of the state in the national capital. He said that the state government was sincerely chalking out strategies for the speedy development of the state and added that the state government was making endeavors to bring the economy of the state back on track within four years. He also invited Himachalis residing outside the state to visit the state in coming years to see positive and constructive changes coming up in the state due to the visionary policies and programmes of the government. He added that the state government would work upon the goal to make Himachal Pradesh one of the most progressive and prosperous states of the country in the next ten years.

    Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that his government presented a budget that focuses on growth of all sectors, especially uplifting the rural economy. He added that the state government was also taking various other initiatives like connecting all districts with heliports, expansion of Kangra airport, speeding up of work on roads. He said that the state government was also promoting tourism in Kangra district and coming up with many ambitious projects to attract more tourists to the area.

    The Chief Minister said that Himachal was heading towards becoming a ‘Green State’ by 2026 and detailed the vision of the government for switching towards green energy. He elaborated about the initiatives of the government for encouraging electric vehicles, solar energy etc. besides the unique step taken by the state government to provide a respectable life to orphan children in the state through Mukhya Mantri Sukh-Aashray Scheme. He said that the state government was also empowering women by providing rights to girls in land holdings.

    Vice-Chairman, Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Board, R.S. Bali, who presided over the function, remembered his deep attachment with the organization since childhood. He thanked the Chief Minister for his dedication for the growth of the state and for introducing novel schemes which will go a long way to develop Himachal Pradesh as one of the most progressive states of the country. He said that the vision of the Chief Minister in strengthening education, health, tourism and social welfare sectors is exemplary.

    R.S. Bali also received the ‘Himachal Ratan’ award conferred upon by the Federation to his late father and former Minister G.S. Bali for his notable contribution in public life and towards society.

    President, Himachal Social Bodies Federation, K.R.Verma welcomed the Chief Minister and others and detailed about the activities of the Federation.

    The Chief Minister also presented ‘Himachal Gaurav’ awards to former bureaucrat D.S. Negi besides four other personalities Chunni Lal Kaushal, J.C. Sharma, Kumari Anjali Sharma and Pranav Chandel for their distinguished services.

    Government aims to make Himachal one of the most progressive and prosperous states of the country: CM. A blood donation camp was also organized on the occasion besides a colorful cultural programme.

    Chairman Cooperative Bank, Laxmi Dass, Resident Commissioner, Meera Mohanty, Principal Resident Commissioner, S.K. Singla, OSD to the Chief Minister at New Delhi, K.S. Banshtu, Representatives and office bearers of the Federation and Himachalis residing in NCR were also present on the occasion.

      Department of Psychology, Punjabi University, Patiala successfully completed the 56th National and 25th International Conference of Indian Association of Applied Psychology after three days of intellectual presentations, collegiums and academic exchanges. The conference was inaugurated online by the Chief Guest Preneet Kaur, Member Parliament and addressed by Dr Veerendra Mishra, Director-National Institute of Social Defence, Govt. Of India. Over 260 delegates participated in this conference from all parts of India, as well as from USA, UK, Australia, Canada, Netherlands, Malaysia etc. contributing in 27 scientific & 13 plenary/ Colleagium sessions. The valedictory session marking the end of this prestigious event was graced by the presence of Dean (Research) Prof. G. S. Batra and Ex-Registrar Prof. B.S. Sandhu. IAAP regional president Prof. Updesh and Secretary Prof. NovRattan Sharma heartily praised the efforts of Dr. Mamta Sharma (Head of Psychology) and her team for overcoming all obstacles of the online mode and organizing such a well-executed event. Overwhelming appreciation was received from Prof. G. P. Thakur (Chief Patron, IAAP) and Prof. M.V.R.Raju (President elect 2021-2024, IAAP) through their online address as well. The inaugural amd valedictory keynote addresses were also delivered online by Prof. Janak Pandey and Prof. Vidhu Mohan respectively.
