Governor to preside over Annual Convocation of GNDU
Amritsar-The 44th Annual Convocation of Guru Nanak Dev University would be held on May 31, 2018 (Thursday) in Dasmesh Auditorium of the University at 10.45 am. A full dress Rehersal would be organized on May 30 at 10.00 am.
Prof. Karanjeet Singh Kahlon, Registrar said that the Governor of Punjab and Chancellor of the University, V.P. Singh Badnore would preside over the convocation and Hon’ble Minister Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, Sh. Prakash Javadekar shall be the chief guest on this occasion.
Two eminent personalities- Justice (Retd.) Jagdish Singh Khehar, Former Chief Justice of India and General (Retd.) Bikram Singh, Former Chief of Indian Army would also be honoured with Honoris Causa degrees on this occasion in recognition of their contribution in their respective fields. Vice-Chancellor, Professor Jaspal Singh Sandhu would welcome the Governor of Punjab, Hon’ble Minister and other dignitaries.On this occasion Medals and degrees would be awarded to the scholars and meritorious students who have qualified to the examinations of various degrees such Ph.D., M.Phil., M.Tech., LL.M., M.Sc., MBA, MBE, M.Com., M.A., B.Tech., B.Sc., LL.B., BCA, BBA, B.Com. and B.A..
The invitation cards for regular candidates of above categories have already been sent to the Principals/ Heads of their Colleges/ Departments concerned and the private candidates have also been informed by sending letters at their home addresses in the month of February. Candidates who do not receive their invitation cards or have lost their cards, they can personally contact theAssistant Registrar (General), Administrative Block for issuing of duplicate card upto 28.05.2018 alongwith authentic proof.
