Govt Bikram College organized Blood Donation camp

Govt Bikram College of Commerce,Patiala conducted various activities on the third day of Seven Day (Day & Night) NSS Camp under the guidance of college Principal Prof. (Dr.) Kusum Lata. The College NSS Unit organized a blood donation camp to inculcate concern and empathy for the society in the volunteers on 24-01-2023 in the college campus in coordination with the authorities of Blood Bank, Rajindra Hospital Patiala. The Program started with lighting of the lamp and NSS prayer. The Blood Donation Camp was inaugurated by Deputy Director, Higher Education, Punjab Prof. (Dr.) Pardeep Walia. Who advocated the donation of blood as a selfless act.
An e-resource centre to provide new space and opportunity to the students was inaugurated by Deputy Director, Higher Education, Punjab Prof. (Dr.) Ashwani Bhalla. The new resource is provided with five new computers. The new e-resource centre will facilitate students for fast and quick access of desired information. The honored guest appreciated the efforts of the college as this would prove very helpful to the students.
The esteemed guests and the staff was served food made by the NSS volunteers in the camp. Post lunch the NSS volunteers along with the NSS Program officers visited Baba Jiwan Singh colony for a massive cleanliness drive.
The camp concluded with the closing remarks by the honored guests who praised the whole hearted efforts, enthusiasm, teamwork, devotion and leadership skills of the Principal, the teachers, NSS Students volunteers and commended the administrative staff for the thorough arrangements.
The function was arranged on the theme of Basant. Everything seemed coloured in Yellow. Kite flying competition was held. Most of the students were decked in Yellow dresses.
Dr. Parminder Singh, Principal State College of Education attended the function with his staff members. Dr. Vaneeta Rani presented a vote of thanks. The credit for making the day’s program a success goes to the NSS Program officers Prof. Ram Kumar, Dr. Apra, Satinder Kaur, Dr.Harsimran Kaur and Geetanjali. The presence of all staff members added colours to the Day.
