The union health ministry has ordered the withdrawal of the photo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Covid vaccination certificates of five poll-bound states as the Model Code of Conduct has come into effect following the Election Commission of India’s announcement, on Saturday (January 8,2022).
As per available information, the Union Health Ministry has added filters to the CoWin platform for this purpose. The model code of conduct comes into force immediately after the poll schedule is announced by the Election Commission and stays in effect till the elections are completed.
This time the Union Health ministry has taken this step in advance, as in March last year, the ministry had to withdraw the photos from Covid Vaccination certificates, after the Election Commission received complaints raised by some political parties of Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Puducherry.
This time assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Manipur, and Goa will be held between February 10 and March 7 in seven phases (February 10, February 14, February 20, February 23, February 27, March 3 and March 7).The counting of votes for all five states will take place on March 10
