As per available information, from the last few months, children of around 7-8 districts of Punjab enrolled with Government Medical College, Patiala under RBSK scheme are suffering as they are not getting any medicine, proper treatment from the Rajindra Hospital or the empanelled medicine supplier as the supplier has stopped giving the medicine due to non-clearance of their pending dues and the non-availability of medicines at Jan Aushadhi Kendra of the Rajindra Hospital.
The carelessness of the Rajindra Hospital authorities can be gauged from this that they failed to submit the ‘Utilization Certificate’ of the grant they get under the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) to get new amount, grant. The director health services, Punjab is sending reminder to the medical superintendent (MS) of the Govt Rajindra Hospital to submit the documents and take next grant.
Govt Rajindra Hospital officials’ lackadaisical behavior is a road block to children treatment. On one side the director health services, Punjab office is sending reminders to the MS office to take the amount, grant for the treatment of children under RBSK and on the other hand the suppliers are requesting the MS office to clear the pending two years payment. The vendors has stopped the supply of medicines, other items under RBSK scheme to the hospital. But, MS office seems to not paying any heed to both of them. Due to this lackadaisical behavior of the MS Office, thousands of children registered under RBSK are facing hardship in getting treatment, medicine, as no medicine is given to the children.
