Group of students from Karnataka arrive at IIT Ropar for Yuva Sangam phase-3 programme

The third phase of Yuva Sangam, an initiative by the Indian government to promote cultural sensitivity among students, has commenced. As part of this program, a group of 50 students from Karnataka is visiting Punjab, hosted by IIT Ropar as a nodal center. The delegation will be exploring the rich heritage, history, and vibrant culture of the state.
IIT Ropar is diligently managing all aspects of the delegations’ visit– from crafting a comprehensive itinerary to arranging comfortable accommodations to ensure a seamless experience for all. The delegations will explore the rich heritage, history of Sikh Community and vibrant culture of this incredible state. They will explore the industrial hubs, local sites, museums, and historical places the state has to offer. They will also visit Anandpur Sahib, where they can see the Virasat-e-Khalsa, a museum that represents the glorious Sikh history, magnificent Golden Temple in Amritsar and also the capital city of Punjab, Chandigarh. And in Chandigarh they will meet the Governor of Punjab Banwari Lal Purohit on 18th December at Raj Bhawan, Chandigarh. IIT Ropar has also organized a cultural night for the delegates. It will be a wonderful showcase of the vibrancy of Punjabi culture.

During the warm welcome to the delegation, Professor Rajeev Ahuja, Director, IIT Ropar mentioned that Punjab is the land of warriors and heroes, renowned for the strong determination of the inhabitants of the state. Their culture also embodies the heritage of an ancient civilization. He expressed that in Punjab, a guest is considered a representative sent by God. IIT Ropar assures that the delegates will be well taken care of, and it will strive to make their visit to Punjab an unforgettable experience. Once the delegates set foot in Punjab, they might just get addicted to its charm and would want to visit again! The delegates were welcomed with the Gidha performance of KV IIT Ropar students.
