Earlier on Friday, the Ludhiana court had convicted a woman for killing her neighbour’s two-and-a-half-year-old daughter by burying her alive.
Neelam (35), a resident from the Shimlapuri area in Ludhiana, was found guilty of the brutal murder of her neighbour’s two-year-old daughter, Dilroz Kaur. Neelam had killed the toddler as a result of an ongoing feud with the family and buried the toddler alive in a pit she had dug in the Salem Tabri area on November 28, 2021.
Initially, Neelam denied knowing the whereabouts of the toddler. However, after the police obtained CCTV footage showing Neelam with the victim on her scooter, she confessed to the crime.
An FIR under section 364 (kidnapping with intent to kill) of the IPC was registered at the Shimlapuri police station, and after the child’s death, sections 302 and 201 of the IPC were also added.
