Harjot Bains Shares Relief Update, Water Level of Bhakra Dam Recedes

Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains directed further acceleration of the ongoing work to strengthen the weakened Satluj embankment at village Hariwal in his assembly constituency Sri Anandpur Sahib. He said that officials and his teams are continuously present on-site, ensuring that no local resident faces any difficulty.
He informed that jumbo bags are being brought in and volunteers are actively working at every location where there is a possibility of impact. With everyone’s cooperation, the work will be completed soon. He further said that riverbanks are being reinforced with jumbo bags.
Sharing encouraging news, he said that with God’s grace, the water level of Bhakra Dam has now come down to 1678.66 feet, whereas yesterday it was 1679.05 feet — almost half a foot lower. He added that rainfall in the coming days is expected to be less than before, and weather conditions are predicted to remain favorable everywhere. “This is indeed a relief,” he stated.
Bains said that continuous monitoring of the situation is being carried out. For several days, he himself has been on the ground with his workers to intensify relief and rescue operations. By God’s grace, there has been no loss of human life. He emphasized, “No one has control over nature, but we can only fold our hands before nature and pray that it helps us protect our region.”
The Minister expressed gratitude, saying that during this difficult time, support has come from all directions, sewa saints, religious leaders, social service organizations, panchayats, sarpanches, youth clubs, women, and especially the young volunteers, who, along with the administration, have played a vital role in relief and rescue work.
He mentioned that wherever there is need, AAP volunteers are working with full dedication and sincerity. A helpline number 87279-62441 has also been issued, and every needy person is being assisted. All of this is being made possible with collective support from well-wishers.He concluded by saying that in the next two to three days, conditions are expected to improve further, and for this, they are thankful to the Almighty.
