Haryana Power Engineering Association’s peaceful protest continues at Panchkula, Hissar, Jind ,Bhiwani and other stations against the the autocratic attitude of management and demanded revoking of arbitrary transfer of SDO (Uchana), Jojo Taneja for detecting power theft in his subdivision.
The Panchkula meeting was addressed by President: Puneet Kundu , General Secretary: Ravinder Ghanghas and others . They demanded security for officials on power theft checking duty and arrests of culprits in connection with the ‘Dadri incident.
The Association had already submitted a memorandum to the DHBVN Chief Engineer ( HR & Adm) however, no attention has been paid by the Nigam Management to these issues till date. This shows that Nigam Management is not at all serious about the issue and least bothered about the morale of engineers. Engineers are being punished for performing their prescribed duties.
Hissar Senior Vice President Baljit Beniwal, Vice President Sudeep Bamal, and other engineers addressed the gathering.
Haryana Power Engineering Association (HPEA) has cautioned the government and management against the arbitrary transfer of SDO (Uchana) and demanded security for officials and arrests in connection with the ‘Dadri incident . The management is penalizing those officials who take an active interest in fulfilling their responsibilities and curbing power theft and this is leading to demoralization for the engineers.

The Association has taken serious cognizance of the death threats received over the phone by the SDO (City) of Dadri; these threats were issued after the concerned engineer disconnected the power supply due to pending bills. Despite the registration of an FIR, the administration’s failure to arrest the accused raises serious questions regarding the functioning of the administration. The Association has demanded that the management ensure the immediate arrest of the accused.
The Association has unanimously decided that this protest will be intensified at the state level. In case no action is taken all engineers will be asked to halt duties related to detecting power theft and recovering dues.
