Heat wave grips Punjab, Haryana
Chandigarh-Most parts of Punjab and Haryana were under the grip of heat wave on Thursday, with Hisar sizzling at 43.1 degrees Celsius.
Maximum temperature in Hisar in Haryana was up by three degrees above normal.
Chandigarh, the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, recorded mercury at 40.9 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal, the Met department said.
Among other places in Haryana, Ambala, Bhiwani and Karnal braved hot weather at 41.4, 42.7 and 41.8 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Narnaul experienced intense heat at 42 degrees Celsius.
In Punjab, Amritsar and Ludhiana recorded a maximum of 41.4 degrees Celsius each, three degrees above normal.
Patiala had a hot day at 42 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal.
As per the Met department forecast, weather is likely to be dry in next 24 hours in Punjab and Haryana.
