HEIS, Govt. Bikram College of Commerce, Patiala Hosts Orientation Program for BCA- I and BBA-I students

The HEIS department of Govt. Bikram College of Commerce, Patiala successfully conducted its orientation program for the BCA- I (Bachelor of Computer Applications) and BBA- I students (Bachelor of Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship) (Banking, Financial services and Insurance) (Logistics and Supply Chain Management) under the guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) KusumLata.

The Program started with the Ceremonial Lamp Lighting followed by college Dhuni. This was followed by a warm welcome address from the college Principal, Prof. (Dr.) KusumLata who emphasized the institution’s commitment to fostering a supportive and dynamic learning environment. She also highlighted the importance of disciplined life and healthy living, urging students to maintain a positive attitude, uphold ethical values and strive for holistic development. Dr.Reetu Kapoor, Member Secretary, HEIS addressed the students with an inspiring message, underlining the importance of academic excellence, high moral values and personal development.  Dr. Rekha Rani, IQAC Coordinator addressed the students by encouraging them to actively participate in all academic and co-curricular activities to make the most of their college journey. Dr. Harsimran Kaur, Sr. Asst. Prof. BCA Dept. gave detailed information about the BCA Course and Asst. Prof. Swati Gupta presented details about the BBA courses.

The primary goal of this orientation was to acquaint the students with the institution’s existing practices and regulations. The Information about the members of staff, importance of regular class attendance, assignments and the Conditions of mid-semester-test and university examinations, meeting the minimum required attendance, various clubs, committees and NSS was shared with the students. An Open query session was also held for the students where students actively came up with their queries. The entire staff of HEIS was present there.

Overall, the orientation program was a resounding success, setting a positive tone for the academic year ahead.
