Himachal Pradesh bagged 70th Women Senior National Kabaddi Championship at Lamrin Tech Skills University Punjab

The 70th Senior National Women’s Kabaddi Championship reached its pinnacle at Lamrin Tech Skills University, with the Himachal Pradesh team delivering an exceptional performance in the grand finale and became victorious by 33–27 points over Indian Railways team.
Their victory over the Indian Railways team not only marked a significant moment in the realm of kabaddi but also secured them the championship title in a thrilling display of skill and determination.
Former Chief Minister of Punjab, Charanjit Singh Channi, graced the occasion with his esteemed presence, adding a touch of prestige to the championship’s conclusion. The tournament showcased exceptional skill and sportsmanship from talented women Kabaddi players across the nation.
In his Presidential speech Channi said that it is a matter of great pride and honour for Punjab that Kabaddi; the mother and popular game of Punjabis is famous worldwide and has been hosted 1st time in Punjab especially by any educational institution of Punjab. He congratulated the management and team of the university for encouraging women sports.
Dr. Sandeep Singh Kaura, Chancellor of Lamrin Tech Skills University Punjab and Advisor to NSDC Govt of India, highlighted the championship’s role in providing a new platform for the youth of the country in sports.
Dr. Kaura emphasized the university’s commitment to all-round student development and its focus on skills and technical education. The championship witnessed over 100 matches during the four-day event, showcasing intense competition and a spectrum of emotions from tears of happiness to moments of sadness. Dr. Kaura mentioned that the university, in collaboration with anchor partner IBM India Pvt Ltd and other industry partners Tata Technologies and Ansys, is actively involved in implementing various programs for student development.
Sikander Singh Malooka, President Punjab Kabaddi federation mentioned that Lamrin Tech Skills University Punjab has served as a fitting host, providing a platform for the athletes to exhibit their prowess in the ancient sport of kabaddi. The championship not only celebrated the spirit of competition but also emphasized the importance of fostering sports at the national level.
