Himanshu Jain takes over as 37th Deputy Commissioner of Rupnagar

Himanshu Jain has taken over as Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar today afternoon.
He replaced Dr Preeti Yadav,who has been transferred to Patiala as deputy commissioner.
Himanshu Jain is a 2017 batch IAS officer. He is from Jind, Haryana and is M.Tech (Computer Science) from the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Hyderabad. His date of birth is July 5,1991. His father owns shoe manufacturing units in Bahadurgarh, Haryana. He interned with Amazon for three months. He had also got a job as a manager with the Reserve Bank of India. But, he cracked UPSC and opted for IAS.
He will continue to serve as Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister in addition to his duty as Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar. He remained SDM, Kharar in SAS Nagar (Mohali).
He was welcomed by administrative officials and given a guard of honour by a contingent of Punjab Police on his arrival at Rupnagar.
He instructed the officials that the public interest services should be provided within the fixed time limits. He said that on the instructions of Punjab Government, along with bringing transparency, continuity and speed in government works, timely and good administrative services will be provided to the residents of the district.
He also appealed to the residents of the district to cooperate with the district administration in the development and other functions of the district.
Earlier he was posted as additional principal secretary to the chief minister, Punjab and in addition additional CEO Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion.
