Honour for Daljit Ami,nominated as Judge for International Film Festival

Prominent documentary filmmaker and Director of EMRC (Educational Multimedia Research Centre) at Punjabi University Patiala, Daljit Ami, has been nominated as a jury member for the PRAKRITI International Documentary Film Festival. It is noteworthy that this festival is organized annually at various locations across the country by CEC (Consortium for Educational Communication), New Delhi. The 15th edition of this festival, focused on the Southeast Asian region, was recently held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Daljit Ami has been nominated in the Jury for 16th edition of the festival.
Prof. Jagat Bhushan Nadda, Director of CEC (Consortium for Educational Communication), mentioned that this festival, which started in 1997, hosts competitions for documentary films in four different categories: Environment, Development, Human Rights, and Swachh Bharat (Clean India). Experts related to these subjects and documentary filmmaking are nominated as jury members in each category. Daljit Ami has been nominated for the documentaries in the ‘Swachh Bharat’ category.
Expressing his happiness, Daljit Ami said that his nomination is a result of his contributions over the past two and a half years and, active and regular participation in film festivals and other national-level events while representing EMRC Patiala. During this time, he has actively participated in numerous in discussions held at various film festivals across the country. He also mentioned that he has often been invited as a moderator or panelist in such discussions. This latest recognition further highlights his ongoing efforts and accomplishments. He noted that this recognition is not only an honour of EMRC Patiala but also benefit the region and the university. Improved functional relation with peer group professionals in their field will lead to new opportunities and potential benefits for the EMRC Patiala.
It is also noteworthy that EMRC Patiala recently secured the top position in the country for Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) offered in semester starting July 2024. By offering 17 MOOCs for the July-December 2024 session, EMRC Patiala has jointly secured the first position along with EMRC Calicut among a total of 21 centers across the country.
