Human Rights Commission fully committed to provide justice for victims: Jatinder Singh Shanti

Human rights violations will not be tolerated under any circumstances, the Punjab State Human Rights Commission is taking the protection and violation of human rights in the state seriously and continuous actions are being taken.
These words were expressed byPunjab State Human Rights Commission Member Jatinder Singh Shanti (Padma Shri Awardee) while attending a function at G.S. Estate Rupnagar today and holding a meeting with the top officials of the District Administration Rupnagar.
Presiding over the meeting Jatinder Singh Shanti said that the main objective of the commission is that every citizen gets full protection of the fundamental rights granted to him as per the Constitution and there is no injustice of any kind. He said that human rights violations will not be tolerated under any circumstances and strict action will be ensured against the accused as per the law.
Shanti held a meeting with the officers of the administration and police department and reviewed the work done so far regarding human rights, while giving necessary guidelines to those officers and also taking suggestions to improve human rights further.
He said that the Human Rights Commission is issuing advisories for the protection of human rights, under which new laws are being brought for the welfare of humanity. He said that the Commission is forming a core group of 15 people in each district, who will work for the protection of human rights and will bring to the attention of the complaints and problems related to the Commission. He said that if there is a violation of human rights anywhere, a written complaint in this regard should be given to the Commissioner, on which action will definitely be taken within two days.

After this, he visited the drug de-addiction center Rupnagar and also interacted with the patients admitted there.
In this event organized by Anti-Corruption Crime Prevention Community Oriented Policing Society and Eco Conserve Foundation at G.S. Estate Rupnagar, sewing machines were distributed to needy women and an eye check-up camp was also organized and apart from this, a team of doctors also checked sugar and BP and gave general medicines.
On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (J) Avikesh Gupta, SP Arvind Meena, Jail Superintendent Rupnagar Harjot Singh Kler, Tehsildar Harsimran Singh, Chairman Eco Conserve Foundation Dr. Deepak Singla, DSP Human Rights Commission Deepak Singh, President Rupnagar Eco Conserve Foundation Harpreet Kaur and other high officials were present.
