IG Bathinda reviews Security Management to GGS Refinery

M F Farooqui, Inspector General, Bathinda, today for the first time visited the Guru Gobind Singh Refinery and met with the Senior Management of HMEL.
He was accompanied by Dr. Nanak Singh, SSP, Bathinda. Krishan Tuteja, VP-Operations, HMEL and Ramesh Chugh, VP, Technical Services, HMEL, welcomed him and gave an overview of the Guru Gobind Singh Refinery Operations.
He was given a detailed presentation by the HMEL Security Team regarding the crude oil pipeline as well as the state-of–the-art security and disaster management systems at HMEL. Farooqui acknowledged the critical importance of the Refinery infrastructure for the region and highlighted the need for vigilant alertness of refinery security team and use of latest security surveillance gadgets to handle any untoward situation. He assured his full cooperation in smooth and uninterrupted operations of the Refinery.
Guru Gobind Singh Refinery (GGSR) is a refinery owned by Hindustan Mittal Energy Limited (HMEL) a joint venture between HPCL and Mittal Energy Limited, a company owned by L N Mittal (HMEL). It is located in village Phulokhari, Bhatinda, Punjab, India. Fifth biggest refinery in India.
The refinery will get its crude oil supply from Mundra a coastal town in Gujarat through a 1,017 km pipeline, where the oil is imported from abroad
