IG Umranangal gets bail from Faridkot Sessions Court, released from Central Jail

District and Sessions court Faridkot today granted a bail to suspended Inspector General of Punjab Police Paramraj Singh Umranangal who was in judicial custody and lodged at Central Jail Patiala.

After releas from the central jail Umrannangal paid obeisance at historic Gurdwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib and left for his home. When contacted by media persons he refused to comment on his arrest and case.

Paramraj Singh Umranangal was arrested in Kotkpura, Behbal Kalan firing episode by SIT on February 18 from police headquarters in Chandigarh and sent on Judicial remand by the Faridkot court after remaining for eight days in Faridkot police custody.

He was arrested by a special team set up to probe the 2015 crackdown on anti-sacrilege protesters in October 2015 in which two Sikh youths were killed in the police firing in Behbal Kalan, Kotakpura of Faridkot district. SIT members were trying to ascertain from IG Paramraj Singh Umranangal , who could hold the key to the mystery behind as to who ordered the police firing that resulted in the death of two sikh youths.
