IIA Patiala Sub Centre Celebrated World Habitat Day

The Indian Institute of Architects (IIA), Sub-centre Patiala and Patiala Architects Association, celebrated World Habitat Day at Hotel Eqbal Inn, Patiala. About 70 architects from all over Punjab attended this mega event of architecture. 2017 being celebrated as 100th Year of its existence, so this day is more important this year. A lot of celebrations are being done across India throughout this year.

The united Nations has designated the first Monday of every year as World Habitat Day which is also called as World Architecture Day. This year it was on 2nd October 2017. IIA – Patiala celebrated it on 11-10-17. The theme of the day this year is housing policies and affordable homes.

A lot of brainstorming was done by the panel of senior architects about the housing policies of government and about the affordable houses for all the sections of the society.

Ar.L.R.Gupta, Chairman IIA – Patiala welcome all the dignitaries for the event and opened the session of discussions among the architects.

Ar. Sanjay Goel, Chairman IIA Punjab threw light upon the various activities of the Indian institute of Architects all over India.

Ar. Indu Arora, treasurer, Patiala architects association briefed the gathering about the meaning and concept of habitat and the its importance for architecture community.

Ar.Pritpal Singh Ahluwalia discussed in detail about how architects can make difference by offering over services to the government and be a part of decision making of government.

Ar. R. S. Sandhu Hon. Treasurer IIA Punjab and Vice Chairman IIA Patiala thanked all the participants from across the state for being a part of the programme.
