IIT Ropar and IIT Mandi ink pact to promote teaching and research activities

In a first of its kind, IIT Ropar and IIT Mandi have joined hands to advance research talent development and sharing scientific-technical network between two Institutions. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) in this regard is signed on Friday by Professor Rajeev Ahuja, Director, IIT Ropar and Professor Laxmidhar Behera, Director, IIT Mandi.
The collaboration will expand new avenues for collaboration on sharing of graduate programmes in terms of teaching and learning and to speed up research collaboration for the joint Ph.D programme. The Institutes will also jointly organise R&D seminars, workshops, webinars, conferences, continuing education programmes. They will also promote the exchange of students, Ph.D, postdoctoral scholars and faculty for teaching/training programmes.
On this occasion Professor Rajeev Ahuja said, “We hope that this collaboration will bring a revolution of collaboration between two IITs and shall open new avenues for knowledge sharing that will drive opportunities and resources for utilizing tremendous research potential available at both Institutions as per their demographic set up and the sharing of cutting-edge technology system shall boost the mechanism of action.”
While signing the MoU, Professor Behera said, “I think this is the beginning of a very strong relationship between two young IITs that will definitely raise the quality of teaching and research and shall further bring synergy and focus on R&D programmes to foster economic and technological growth in line with making ‘Atmanirnhar Bharat’.
Both IITs endeavour to contribute significantly to challenges of national importance, with a mission to make India self-reliant in innovation and developing indigenous globally competitive technologies through collaboration.
