IIT Ropar fosters “Culture of innovation”,ideas pitched during the boot camp

The second last boot camp of Startup India Punjab Yatra was organised at IIT Ropar to nurture aspiring entrepreneurs in tier-2 and tier-3 cities.
Around 80 Innovative ideas pitched during the boot camp. More than 200 participants attended the camp held on the IIT Ropar campus.
Prof. S.K. Das, Director, IIT Ropar welcomed the guests and thanked the state government to inculcate a culture of innovation driven entrepreneurship in the State. He appreciated the team IIT Ropar being pioneer in providing a platform for speedy commercialization of technology developed by new entrepreneurs. The IIT Ropar Startup Centre has more than 13000 square feet of space available for startups.
Professor Harpreet Singh, Chief Coordinator Technology Business Incubator (TBI), IIT Ropar appreciated Punjab Government to build a vibrant startup ecosystem, by establishing a network between academia, financial institutions, industries, and other institutes.
Divulging more, he added, the Institute has established an in-house technology incubator, as a part of well-thought-of incubation-cum-entrepreneurial eco-system. The startups will not only become epicenters for further innovations but also help in generating new skilled resources, generate new job opportunities, and invest money to propagate the innovation culture further. This facility is going to be made available to all budding entrepreneurs of the region.
Startup Punjab Team conducted the ideation workshop in which he covered introduction to entrepreneurship, idea generation and validation, business plans, sales and marketing plans, finance and funding, legal and intellectual property.
