IIT Ropar in top 100 in Times Higher Education The Asia University rankings

Indian Institute of Technology(IIT), Ropar made a debut this year in The Asia University Rankings 2022, being ranked 68th and entering the top 100 list for the first time. In spite of being a young Institution, IIT Ropar has punched well above its weight from the more popular predecessors. Among Centrally funded Institutes, IIT Ropar stood 2nd with 68th Rank in India after IISc Bangalore (42nd Rank). IIT Indore stood at 87th Rank.
IIT Ropar’s overall score this year stood at 47.2. Its respective scores in citations, Industry Outcome, International Outlook, research and teaching are 99.7, 37.7, 18.9, 17.0, and 31.7.
Institute director Prof. Rajeev Ahuja siid, “IIT Ropar has stood firm to serve the Nation with ground breaking innovation to help combat the crisis. Today, Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings 2022 has measured our efforts in the global academic order. The Achievement of our place among the best in the world, shows the profound hard work institutes fraternity is doing in bringing synergy in the lives of our students, our communities and around the globe. This ranking has also demonstrated that by leveraging our greatest research strengths, and by partnering with others globally, we are focusing our efforts on solving some of the most complex global issues facing humankind.”
He said that with a state-of-the-art infrastructure on a built-up area of 2.5 million square feet comprising of housing for 2488 students, 170 faculty and more than 120 staff members, magnificent entrance, cutting-edge laboratories, libraries, sports facilities, spaces for other extra and co-curricular activities and the unique design of the hostels with large common spaces, the institute is now alive and thriving.
IIT Ropar in top 100 in Times Higher Education The Asia University rankings.He said that a number of nationally relevant research projects, e.g., AWaDH (Agriculture and Water Technology Development Hub) and in sectors of defense, Water and Environment, energy; healthcare, infrastructure, etc are going on in the campus. There are a large number of projects undertaken by IIT Ropar which contribute to the national development goals and priorities. Some research initiatives in these areas are briefly mentioned below:
