IIT Ropar in top 100 in Times Higher Education Young University rankings

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT),Ropar made a debut this year in Times Higher Education Young University Rankings 2022, being ranked 81st and entering the top 100 list.
IIT Ropar’s overall score this year stood at 48.8, with the global rank of 81. Among various parameters, it has scored 99.7 in citation and 37.7 in industry income.
Prof. Rajeev Ahuja, Director, IIT Ropar said, “Amidst all the turbulent times we are facing due to Covid-19 pandemic, IIT Ropar has stood firm to serve the Nation with ground breaking innovation to help combat the crisis. Today this Times Higher Education Young University Rankings 2022 is a testament of our efforts in the global academic order. Achieving our place among the best in the world, shows the profound hard work IIT Ropar fraternity is doing in bringing synergy in the lives of our students, our communities and around the globe”.
He said this ranking had also demonstrated that by leveraging our greatest research strengths, and by partnering with others globally, we are focusing our efforts on solving some of the most complex global issues facing humankind.”
He said that with a state-of-the-art infrastructure on a built-up area of 2.5 million square feet comprising of housing for 2510 students, 163 faculty and 111 staff members, magnificent entrance, cutting-edge laboratories, libraries, sports facilities, spaces for other extra and co-curricular activities and the unique design of the hostels with large common spaces, the institute has come alive.
IIT Ropar in top 100 in Times Higher Education Young University rankings. He said that a number of nationally relevant research projects in sectors of defense, Water and Environment, energy; healthcare, infrastructure, etc were going on in the campus. There were a large number of projects undertaken by IIT Ropar which contribute to the national development goals and priorities.he added.
