IIT Ropar organises Tech fest ‘Advitiya’

IIT Ropar conducted its annual technical festival, Advitiya uniting students, enthusiasts, and experts nationwide to celebrate innovation, creativity, and technical excellence. The inauguration, led by Director Prof Rajiv Ahuja and chief guest Soarabh Pathak, VP of Maruti Suzuki, marked the commencement of the festival.
With an impressive turnout of over 53,000 participants in online and offline modes from more than 50 colleges and schools, Advitiya featured a series of workshops and seminars facilitated by industry experts and professors. These sessions provided attendees with valuable insights into cutting-edge technologies and current industry trends.
A noteworthy moment during the festival included a discussion on defence and a panel session, featuring esteemed individuals from various military branches—Brig. Pawan Bhardwaj (Army), Rear Adm. Brijesh Vashishta, DGNAI (Navy), Air Cmd. HKJS Sokhey VSM (Retd) (Airforce), and Maj. Neha Patel (Retd). Furthermore, an insightful conversation with IAS officer Keshav Hingonia and IPS officer Vivek Sheel Soni provided students with valuable advice and lessons from seasoned civil servants.
On the final day, a talk with industrialists featured Sushil Kumar Kansal, General Manager, BSNL; Professor Chandan Choudhary, Sr. Associate Dean ISB; and Anshuman Tiwari, Global Head of Operational Excellence, DXC Technology.
Advitiya successfully organized 23 competitions, including hackathons like CodCom, Hack-o-Mania, and AI Fusion, judged by Mr. Ayush Parti and Dr. Shashi Shekhar Jha. Departing from traditional norms, IIT Ropar enhanced the festival experience by offering on-the-spot prizes, free accommodation, and waived registration charges.
