Illustrious Punjabi University academician Prof Raman Maini awarded with ‘Eminent Engineer Award’

Prof.(Dr.) Raman Maini an eminent teaching faculty of Punjabi university has been conferred with ‘Eminent Engineer Award ‘by The Institution of Engineers (India) at 37th National Convention of Computer Engineers organized by Punjab and Chandigarh state chapter of IEI held on 22nd Nov, 2024 in Engineers Bhawan ,Chandigarh.
Dr. Raman Maini did his B Tech, M Tech and PhD in the field of Computer Science and Engineering. He got a Merit certificate in his M Tech at PAU. He is currently working as a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, at Punjabi University, Patiala. He is a fellow of IE (I), life member of the Punjab Academy of Science, ISTE, IETE and the International Association of Engineers (IAENG). Dr. Raman Maini is a highly regarded Professor of Computer Science and Engineering with a remarkable academic and research career spanning over 24 years.
He has more than 130 research publications to his credit in national and international journals/conferences of repute.He has guided 8 PhD and 28 MTech students.
At present Prof (Dr.) Raman Maini is working as Director of the UGC- Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (HRDC) at Punjabi University, Patiala since July 2024.
He served as Head of Computer Science & Engineering Department, Punjabi University, Patiala.
He has been the Member, Academic Council Punjabi University; Chairman of Board of Studies of Computer Science and Engineering, Punjabi University, Patiala.
He is Member of Board of Studies for Various Departments of Various reputed Universities .
He is Member of the committee for developing Unified Portal for the Department of Higher Education and Languages, Punjab.
Dr Maini started ACM students’ chapter and Oracle Academy, started Institution of Engineers (India) Students Chapter and NPTEL Local chapter in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Punjabi University Patiala. Dr. Raman Maini has Organized 2 International conferences, 3 FDPs, and more than 15 technical events and workshops .He has been invited as a guest speaker by various institutions and organizations worldwide. Dr. Maini has two Patents/ Designs to his credit.
His wife Dr Regina Maini is serving as Senior Medical Officer in Punjabi University, Patiala and he has a daughter studying in school.

Dr. Maini thanked Dr Tara Singh Kamal ,Former President IEI ; Er S S Mundi, Vice President IEI; Dr. Baljit Singh, Chairman,FIE , Dr Jagtar Singh Sivia Ex Chairman,Bathinda chapter ,IEI and all other officials of IEI for conferring him the prestigious award, He thanked Almighty and his parents for the blessings. He thanked his wife, daughter , family members and friends for the support and best wishes.
Dr Maini said Behind Every Successful man, there is a woman; he appreciated his wife for her continuous support, motivation and encouragement .He said his daughter Aamin is his sunshine, hope and perfect blend of strength and grace.
He thanked Vice Chancellor K K Yadav IAS for his continuous support and guidance . He said he will keep on giving his best in the field of Computer Science and Engineering throughout his life.
