In the aftermath of India’s deadliest aviation disaster, we heard cries that shook our soul, from the smoldering ruins of Ahmedabad’s BJ Medical College
On June 12, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner fell from the heavens like a fire ball , crashing straight into the Atulyam hostel complex during lunchtime.
Four budding doctors were killed instantly — Jaiprakash Choudhary, Manav Bhadu, Aaryan Rajput, and Rakesh Diyora — along with five family members of doctors who were simply in the wrong place at the wrong moment.
270 lives were lost in total, but the pain is concentrated, unrelenting, and personal for India’s medical fraternity.
One of the injured, Ritesh Kumar Sharma, a third-year student, was trapped under debris for hours, screaming into voids of broken concrete, unsure if anyone was alive to hear him. Now, with his leg crushed but his spirit intact, he will receive treatment and financial aid — but will still live with the images of classmates turned corpses.
Dr Nidhi Bansal said that These weren’t just students. They were future saviours. Their dreams didn’t die with them , we are now the keepers of those dreams
She added While bureaucracies failed and formal condolences poured in coldly, let us be reminded what true fraternity means. We as IMA Patiala, deeply mourn the loss of All young dreams. All healers in the making, the future Doctors /surgeons

Young lives dedicated to saving others…
Dr Meenakshi , vice president IMA patiala said All of them gone in the blink of an eye. They were in their campus, tired of their long duties having food; wiped off from this planet without a trace.
What could be more horrifying than this.?
Dr Nidhi Bansal said that These were the most brilliant minds of India, having passed one of the most difficult exam with excellent marks bearing pride and hope for future of our nation
We saw stories of business travelers, of families, of a lone survivor.
We saw their names, their faces, their lives celebrated.
But what about the doctors?
Were they not our fellow citizens?
Were they not the future protectors of our health?
We are asking for respect For those invisible angels who wore white coats… and vanished without a trace and solidarity with the breaved families which lost everything for ever
All members of IMA Patiala offer heartfelt condolences to bereaved families and prayers for the young souls.
