IMA Rupnagar organises medical camps for flood affected people, donates Rs one lakh

Rupnagar district has been very badly affected with the floods and this has hampered the supply of Medicines & other Medical necessities in the affected areas. During his visit to the district , Dr Balbir Singh (Minister , Health & Family Welfare) had appealed to the IMA Rupnagar to deploy Medical Staff in the flood affected areas to help ensure the Medical Relief work.

Indian Medical Association(IMA )Rupnagar President , Dr BPS Parmar had pledged 4 Ambulances alongwith Medical staff under the supervision of Dr Parminder Kumar (Civil Surgeon , Rupnagar).

Going ahead , IMA Rupnagar sent its Ambulance under the Supervision of Dr Parminder Kumar ( Civil Surgeon,Rupnagar) & Dr Anju (Assistant Civil Surgeon & Co-ordinator) equipped with Medical supplies  & Staff to the flood affected areas.

The Medical Team was headed by Dr Bhim Sain (Dist Epidemiologist Retd) , Dr Dalbir Singh (Medical Officer,  Parmar Hospital ) , 2 Staff Nurses , 1 Pharmacist etc. It visited the flood affected areas like Village Haveli Kalan , Gillco Valley , Basant Nagar , Kotla Nihang Village etc.

A total of 103 patients were examined by the team. Most of the prone patients suffered from Gastroenteritis , Skin Problems , Fever , Cough etc . Free Medicines were distributed to the patients.

Dr Jagdeep Chowdhary (Secretary, IMA Rupnagar )also informed that District IMA has contributed an Amount of Rs 1 Lac to Chief Minister Relief Fund to support Flood Relief work.

IMA Rupnagar organises medical camps for flood affected people, donates Rs one lakh. Further elaborating , he said that IMA plans to send its medical teams to different flood affected areas each day around the district.

Dr Parmar had a word of thanks for Dr ParminderKumar (Civil Surgeon Rupnagar) & Dr Anju (ACS & Co-ordinator) for whole hearted support in carrying out the medical relief work.  He also thanked the District IMA team for the co-ordinated efforts to help out the affected citizens.
