In a surprise move, one go, Secy, Director Public relations changed; 4 IAS transferred in Punjab

Punjab government has issued transfer orders of 4 IAS officers including the secretary and director public relations.
Now, Puneet Goyal, IAS has been given the full fledged charge of public relations department. He will look after the department as administrative secretary, special secretary and director.
The last time both secretary and director public relations were transferred in one go was when Sidhu Moosewala was killed. At that time, Secretary of Public Relations Malwinder Singh Jaggi, IAS was replaced by Gurkirat Kirpal Singh, IAS and Director of Information and Public Relations Sumit Jarangal, IAS was replaced by Sonali Giri, IAS.
Moreover on January 8,2026 Akshita Gupta, IAS of 2012 batch was appointed as the Director of Information and Public Relations, Punjab. She is the youngest officer to be appointed as DIPR in the public relations department history.
She joined Patiala as assistant commissioner (Under Training) in August 2022. She served as the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Punjab till March 2025. She was working as Commissioner, municipal corporation, Phagwara when appointed DIPR Punjab.
