In another goof up, Patiala district administration is still publicizing the development work done by the previous SAD-BJP-Congress governments in the district.
Its more than three years have passed when the aam admi party had taken the reins of Punjab by winning 92 seats in 2022 elections. In Patiala all assembly seats were captured by AAP candidates in 2022 elections. Since then lots of development work were initiated by the present government in the district.
But as per district administration official website https://patiala.nic.in/ heading “Development Stories” it prominently show “Work completed During Year 2016-17 & 2017-18 in district Patiala “.
In 2016-17 Parkash Singh Badal led SAD-BJP was ruling the state and in 2017-18 Capt Amarinder Singh led Congress government was in power.

This is not the only instance where Patiala district administration’s negligence behavior has come to fore. Earlier also the administration failed to update the joining of its officers including Commissioner Patiala division on regular basis. The official website didn’t show the officers posted in districts. Even today, the official website shows only about DC and no officers like ADCs, SDMs and heads of departments are shown, displayed on the website.
Gurpreet a local resident said “in today’s digital era almost everyone has smart phones and they quickly search for the information they require. The government department has a dedicated team of officials to upload data on various websites, platforms. But, if a government department’s website in not updated for years, this sends a bad impression about the administrator.”
Gagandeep another resident said “it’s very simple to update the information of website. When any officer of any department joins the district he or she gave their joining report to the deputy commissioner or other officers. The DC or other officers can mark on their joining report to upload the information of website. “
Earlier when contacted Sanjeev, the district incharge of National Information Centre (NIC) he had said “we at NIC are technically handling the Patiala district administration website. The content is owned by the administration. They can also update, change the content, upload any information at their own level. Moreover if they asked us to do, we do it as per their requirement.”
