International webinar series concluded at MRSPTU

Three day International webinar Series on ‘Pharmacovigilance- Current & Future Prospect’ concluded here.
More than 250 participants from 70 different Institutions covering 14 States and UTs across the country participated during the three day International Webinar Series organized by Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology (DoPST) of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda.
During the webinar renowned speakers including Mayank Prabhakar, Associate Manager at Parexel, Chandigarh, Simranjeet Singh Bedi, Pharmacovigilance specialist, at Parexel, Chandigarh and Dr. Stiffy Kukreja, Pharmacovigilance Associate at Innomar Strategists, Canada discussed the importance of Pharmacovigilance in Pharmaceutical industry and the job perspectives.
The key topics of the series include, Good clinical research practices, medical writing, pharmacovigilance and its role in healthcare, key regulatory bodies, labelling documents and Do’s and Don’t’s of Job Interview.
Earlier, Professor (Dr.) Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice Chancellor of the University inaugurated the event. Prof. Ishar also exhorted the efforts of the DoPST for organizing such a vital seminar series and making best use of time during this period of academic interruption due to Covid pandemic.
Dr. Rahul Deshmukh, Coordinator of this Webinar Series and Head, DoPST provided brief information about the objectives and significance of this event.
While Professor (Dr.) Ashish Baldi, Dr Uttam Kumar Mandal and Dr. Amit Bhatia moderated the different sessions during event.
All the moderators took up the queries raised by the participants and conducted the discussions with speakers during the three day webinar series.
On the final day of this Webinar Series Professor (Dr.) Jasbir Singh Hundal, Dean Research & Development, MRSPTU, Bathinda graced the event as a Chief Guest.
Prof. Hundal discussed about DoPST progress the department and the quality of teaching and research activities conducted by the department and had also mentioned that the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology of MRSPTU, has made its presence felt at national level within a short span of three years. Renowned faculties of department have received research grants of more than Rs. 1.25 crore and students have been awarded with best research work for more than 25 times by various agencies/ institutes.
Prof. (Dr.) Savina Bansal, Dean Academic Affairs, Dr. Jatinder Kaur, Registrar and Dr. Bhupinder Singh, Director IT Enabled Services applauded the efforts of the organisers for vital seminar series and making best use of time during this period of academic interruption due to COVID-19 pandemic.
