IPS officer with Punjab roots appointed as DG of elite CISF; BSF too gets new DG

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs for:- Appointment of Rajwinder Singh Bhatti, IPS (BH:90) to the post of Director General, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and appointment of Daljit Singh Chaudhary, IPS (UP:90) presently working as Director General, SSB, to the post of Director General, Border Security Force (BSF).
IPS officer with Punjab roots appointed as DG of elite CISF; BSF too gets new DG. Rajwinder Singh Bhatti, IPS belongs to Jamarai village in the Tarn Taran district. His son-in-law Maninder Singh is a Punjab-cadre IPS officer. He had completed his study in Amritsar. He is B.Com.,C.A., M.Phil. He was appointed DGP of Bihar in December 2022. Bhatti is known for controlling many critical cases. Bhatti earned a national fame after he meticulously planned and ensured the arrest of Shahabuddin from his Delhi residence in November 2005. Earlier, no police officer dared to arrest the RJD strongman because of his strong political clout.While serving as the ASP of Barh, Bhatti had arrested the then RJD legislator and strongman Dilip Kumar Singh from his Patna residence. Dilip, who also served as a minister during the Lalu Prasad regime, was the elder brother of Makama strongman and former MLA Anant Kumar Singh.
Daljit Singh Chaudhary, IPS (UP:90) belongs to Delhi. He is B.Sc LL.B . Daljit Singh is present Director general of Sashastra Seema Bal, was earlier Special Director of Central Reserve Police Force and Additional Director General. He was appointed DG, SSB in January this year for a period up to November 30, 2025 i.e. the date of his superannuation. But after around seven months he is transferred and appointed as DG, BSF
On August 27,2024 B. Sirinivasan, IPS (BH:92) was appointed as the new Director General,National Security Guard (NSG), the country’s counter-terrorism force, according to a Personnel Ministry order.
