Is a bureaucrat going to head PSPCL like PSTCL?

    Kanwar Inder Singh/ royalpatiala.in

Today is the last day of Er Baldev Singh Sran, chairman Punjab state power corporation limited’s second inning. He was appointed chairman of PSPCL by Charanjit Singh Channi, former chief minister of Punjab in December 21,2021 for a period of one year.

As per available information, Sran had already given his willingness to relinquish the charge of CMD to the state government, few days ago. So, the chances of his reappointment also vanish.

Since then the hectic lobbying for the coveted posts is going on in the bureaucratic circles. As per a routine procedure, principal secretary or a director or the chairman PSTCL gets the charge in this scenario.

Since only two directors-director finance Surinder Beri and director generation Paramjit Singh are on regular positions and the posts of director distribution, director commercial are already vacant and the state government has not appointed any director administration for the last around six months, the chances of additional charge to a directors fall flat due to shortage of directors.

Even the powercom sister concern PSTCL director administration has not been appointed and director technical is also going the relinquish his charge on around January 3,2023.  The only working director of PSTCL is the finance director. So, the chances of PSTCL director to get the charge of CMD PSPCL are also not looking bright.

Now, the only chance remained is of principal secretary power and CMD, PSTCL .

Since , the charge of CMD Punjab state transmission corporation limited is with A Venu Prasad, the chances of taking another charge looks bleak as his is already attached with the chief minister of Punjab Bhagwant Mann as his additional chief secretary.

So, the only person who is left to hold the charge of this coveted post is the principal secretary, power, Tejveer Singh an IAS officer.

But, at present as per available information, Tejveer Singh is on leave and the charge of this coveted post may be given to Rajat Aggarwal another IAS officer. As per sources he is the blue eyed boy of senior bureaucrats of Punjab.

So, finally an IAS is going to head the Punjab state power corporation Limited replacing a technocrat with high ability.
