Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University Signs MOU with DCF

Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University Patiala signed MOU with Deaf Cricket Federation (DCF) in the presence of Governor of Punjab and Chancellor of the University  Banwarilal Purohit and Prof (Dr) Karamjeet Singh,Vice Chancellor of the University in the office of the Governor today. The purpose of the agreement is to foster collaboration and provide opportunity to every Divyang person keen to get himself educated. The University, as the first institution to take up the exclusive initiative in the State, shall provide Special Assistance and Special Modes of Teaching with the help of DCF to the needy struggling due to non-availability of suitable learning practices or communication hindrances or other such type of challenges. Both the parties will have their roles and responsibilities as laid down in this MOU for making this social responsibility project a big success and an asset for Divyang people of society.

Dr. Karamjeet Singh, Vice Chancellor of the University, while expressing his gratitude towards the Hon’ble Governor for his presence, and Padam Bassi, on the behalf of DCF, shared that both the organizations recognize their strength in research, education, disability matters and special assistance required as per disability.  Further, the expression of the interest of these organizations is to come on a single platform to serve this special area of society which is conducive to the mission and vision of the University and its motto. He also added that the University would provide free of cost education, study material in digital format, award Degree or Certificate as per the program to Divyang students after successful completion of the program and will exempt the entire examination fee and any other charges involved for the Divyang Students. He added that the University looks forward to this new project as one of its own kind of contribution to the society through dissemination of knowledge to all sections of society.
