Jagdish jeweller duped by Mumbai based businessman; lodges complaint

Jewelers of Patiala’s royal family Jadgish jewelers were duped by Sanjay Mehta , Vishal Mehta residents of Mumbai, in context for making them an import-export licence of diamond & bullion

Karan singla son of Manoj Singla of Jagdish Jewlers, Patiala lodges a complaint against Sanjay Mehta , Vishal Mehta residents of Mumbai for duping him with Rs 32,50,000/-  at Kotwali police station Patiala.

Patiala police booked the duo in a FIR number 236, under section 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) IPC, section 66 (D) IT Act (cheating by personation by using computer resource’ and provides that any person who by means of any communication device or computer resource cheats by personation).

Jagdish jeweller duped by Mumbai based businessman; lodges complaint. Karan Singla in a complaint said” Sanjay Mehta , Vishal Mehat residents of Mumbai assured us to get an import-export licence of diamond & bullion. They persuaded us and we deposited Rs 32,50,000/-. But neither they got us made an import-export licence of diamond & bullion nor they returned us the money”

As per RBI circular, only the entities notified by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) are permitted to import gold to India. The import will be permitted only after the issue of license by DGFT. So anybody who wants to import or export must have licence.
