JFTU announces Dharna at Jantar Mantar, Delhi, Walk to Parliament demanding resolution of employees, pensioners’ demands

Joint Forum of Trade Unions (JFTU) has announced Dharna at Jantar Mantar, Delhi, followed by Walk to Parliament in favour of their long pending demands.
In this connection, the General Insurance Employees All India Association (GIEAIA) had written a letter to the Chairman cum Managing Directors of The New India Assurance Co. Ltd., The United India Insurance Co. Ltd., The Oriental Insurance Co. Ltd.,The National Insurance Co. Ltd., The GIC Re, The Agriculture Insurance Co. Ltd. giving “Notice for Upcoming IR Actions as per Collective Decision of JFTU_PSGICs”.
Trilok Singh, General Secretary, GIEAIA said “ We requested the management of PSGICs that the association has unanimously taken a decision in the virtual meeting of the Joint Forum of Trade Unions (JFTU) held on 13th July 2025, attended by senior representatives of all constituent unions and associations representing officers, employees, and pensioners of Public Sector General Insurance Companies (PSGICs) and the House expressed deep anguish and serious concern over the continuing inordinate delay in resolution of several key issues, including:
Wage Revision due from August 2022
Enhancement in Employer’s Contribution under NPS
Improvements in Family Pension
“Despite several rounds of conciliatory proceedings, including the last one held before the chief labour commissioner CLC (Central) on 7th July 2025, and the repeated assurances from department of financial services (DFS)/ general insurance public sector association (GIPSA) representatives for a positive resolution, there has been no substantial progress. If the matter continues to remain unresolved beyond 20th July 2025, the JFTU has resolved to intensify its agitation” added Darshan Kumar Wadhwa, Secretary General, GIEAIA Class 1
Trilok Singh further added that “accordingly, we hereby serve Notice for the following IR actions decided collectively by the JFTU_PSGICs:
- Wednesday, 23rd July 2025 – Half-Day Sit-in Dharna followed by Lunch Hour Demonstrations at respective office locations.
- Tuesday, 29th July 2025 – Dharna at Jantar Mantar, Delhi, followed by Walk to Parliament.
“We sincerely urge your good offices to intervene and facilitate early and amicable resolution of the above long-pending issues. The seriousness and patience of the employees and pensioners must not be misunderstood as weakness. We once again reiterate our commitment to a peaceful and constructive resolution” said Wadhwa
“This letter may be treated as a formal communication in this regard from our Association” jointly added Trilok Singh, General Secretary, GIEAIA and Darshan Kumar Wadhwa, Secretary General, GIEAIA Class 1.
