JGND Punjab State Open University students qualify UGC NET

Three students from School of Languages, Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University (JGND PSOU), Patiala have successfully qualified the University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) examination held in June 2025.

These students are from 2023-2025 batch of MA English and 2024-2026 batch of MA Punjabi. Shivam, MA Punjabi; Ganita Sharma and Surjeet Ram, MA English have qualified UGC NET exam in the very first attempt. Shivam has qualified for JRF and Assistant Professor.

Prof. Rattan Singh, Vice-Chancellor, congratulated the students and eulogised the faculty of School of Languages. “This achievement reflects the dedication of both faculty and students towards academic rigour and scholarly pursuits University. It underscores the university’s commitment to fostering an environment that supports higher learning and research, preparing the students for careers in academia, research, and teaching,” said Prof.Rattan Singh.

Dr Navleen Multani, Head, School of Languages, said, “The accomplishments of Shivam, Ganita Sharma and Surjeet Ram will inspire current and prospective students of JGND PSOU.”

Notably, Ganita Sharma and Surjeet Ram are from the first batch of MA English. Shivam is working with PM Shri Kendriya Vidalaya, Jalandhar Cantt and Surjeet Ram is a teacher at Police Public School, Bathinda.
