Kayakalp Award-246 health institutions of Punjab performed well in revitalization assessment – Dr Balbir Singh

Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education and Research and Elections Department of Punjab. Dr Balbir Singh said that information technology should be used to keep records of patients in all the hospitals of the state so that the patient does not have to face difficulties even when changing the hospital during treatment. He was participating in the state-level function of the Kayakalp program organized at Government Medical College yesterday by the Department of Health and family welfare department Punjab
On this occasion, the staff of District Hospital Barnala, who stood first in the category of district hospitals, got their honour, while the second place was taken by District Hospital Nawan Shahr and the third place was taken by Mata Kushalya Hospital Patiala and the hospitals of 11 districts of the state got 70 per cent marks.
Similarly, in the category of sub-divisional hospitals, SDH. Dasuya Distt.Hoshiarpur bagged the first position and more than 23 SDHs of the state, scoring more than 70 per cent marks. In the category of community health centres, CHC Shankar district Jalandhar bagged the first position and more than 45 CHCs of the state, Scoring more than 70 per cent marks.
Speaking during the state-level event, Dr Balbir Singh said that the staff of the hospitals who are doing good work on the basis of the facility provided to the patients in the hospitals of the state are being honoured today in the Kayakalp program. He said that it has been evaluated on the basis of other parameters including the treatment of the patient, the cleanliness of the hospital, waste management, infection control, and the behaviour of the staff with the patient.
Dr Balbir Singh said that it is a matter of happiness that 246 health institutions of the state have performed very well in the revitalization assessment, in which 162 primary and 84 secondary level health services have scored more than 70 per cent. He also invited doctors from all over the state to work together to improve the gender ratio and launch a campaign against the menace of drugs. He said that after the successful experience of keeping patients’ records online in Aam Aadmi clinics, it will now be started in all the hospitals of the state.On this occasion, Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh said that the cases of Covid are increasing in the entire country and precautionary steps are being taken in Punjab and mock drills have also been conducted. He said that those who have a cough, cold or any other disease must wear a mask. Answering the question about the availability of the vaccine, he said that the Chief Minister has issued instructions to purchase the vaccine and the Center has also assured us to send the vaccine soon.

Sandeep Kaur, Civil Surgeons,Deputy Directors, Programme Officers, Senior Medical Officers along with deputy medical commissioners from different districts and staff were present.
