Key accused of Patiala clash arrested; will take action against social media rumor-mongers-IG,SSP

Patiala police has arrested three more culprits of violence between two groups, that rocked the royal city Patiala on April 29,2002.
“Today, Patiala police has arrested one of the key accused Barjinder Singh Parwana from Mohali and Shankar Bhardwaj, president Shiv Sena Bal Thackrey and Ashwani Kumar alias Gagi Pandit from Patiala. Now total nine persons were arrested by the Patiala police for disturbing the peace and harmony of Patiala” said inspector general (IGP) Patiala range Mukhwinder Singh Chinna.
IG Chinna gave credit of arresting the key accused Harish Singla and Barjinder Singh Parwana in a short time, to the newly appointed SSP of Patiala Deepak Pareek. He added that SSP pareek has constituted more than 20 police teams under the supervision of SPs and DSPs, who were on the trail of Barjinder Singh Parwana who was held in Mohali and formally arrested after being brought to Patiala.
IG Chinna further informed that the police will present Barjinder Singh Parwana before the court and demand his police remand.
The police has also arrested Shivdev resident of Bag Sikandar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Devinder Singh resident of Jind and Rajinder Singh resident of Samana.
The IG Chinna further informed that police will also take action against the social media users who uploaded, forwarded the hate videos, after which the city got tensed and deteriorated the situation.
Patiala senior superintendent of police Deepak Parik said key conspirators and rumour-mongers from both sides had been arrested and further investigation was on.
In the afternoon, Patiala police has presented Barjinder Singh Parwana before the court. As per available information court has remanded four days police remand of Barjinder Singh Parwana. A FIR under section 323, 324, 506, 148,149 , 307 IPC has been lodged against him at Kotwali police station, Patiala.
When contacted the SHO Kotwali rahul Kaushal to know the status of other accused arrested by the police, he said “the police have got one day police remand of Shankar Bhardwaj and tomorrow we will present Ashwani Kumar alias Gaggi Pandit before the court .“
