Khalsa College organised National Seminar on Guru Nanak’s Life and Philosophy

Khalsa College Patiala organised One Day National Seminar on ‘Guru Nanak Dev Ji : Life and Philosophy’ under the noble guidance of Gobind Singh Longowal , President, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Sri Amritsar Sahib. This seminar was dedicated to 550th Birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. This seminar was conducted by the Department of Hindi, Sanskrit and Urdu languages.
The Chief Guest of inaugural session of this conference was Dr. Hukam Chand Rajpal, Former Head, Department of Hindi, Punjabi University, Patiala. The Keynote address was delivered by Dr. Harmohinder Singh Bedi, Chancellor, Central University, Himachal Pradesh. College Principal Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha presented the theme of the conference to the audience. Dr. Harvinder Kaur convener of this seminar welcomed all the delegates coming from across the country to this Seminar.
The First Technical Session of the seminar was chaired by Dr. Sukhdev Singh Minhas, Head, Government Degree College Chandigarh. Dr. Ravindra Gaso of DAV College Pundri, Haryana was resource person. In corresponding technical sessions on Sanskrit language Dr. Inder Mohan Singh, Former Head, Department of Sanskrit, Punjabi University Patiala was the Chairperson with special guest Dr. Ashish Kumar, Former Head, Sanskrit Department Arya College, Ludhiana. In the technical sessions on Urdu language Dr. Mohamed Habib Associate Professor, Guru Gobind Singh Religion Studies Department of Punjabi University Patiala presided over session and Dr. Rubina Shabnam of Nawab Sher Mohammad Khan Advanced Studies Malerkotla of Punjabi University Patiala was special guest.
In this conference various research papers related to the theme of the seminar was presented by delegates from Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab. Dr. Gauri Khanna, conducted the stage proceedings. This seminar attended by a big number of faculty members.
