Khalsa College organized Fertiliser Orientation Programme

Post Graduate Department of Agriculture Khalsa College Patiala in Collaboration with Fertiliser Association of India organized a two day National Level Fertiliser Orientation Course for the students of the department. Fertiliser Association of India is the National Representative body of all fertiliser manufacturers in India, comprising public private, joint and Cooperative sector. FAI brings together all concerned with the production, marketing and use of fertilisers with the objective of promoting balanced and efficient use of fertilisers to increase agricultural production and farm income in the country.

Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal of this college, in his inaugural address emphasized on the efficient use of fertilisers by farmers so that the quality of soil in Punjab can be improved.  He instructed all the students to propagate the message of experts that they received during this programme to each village they belong to and each farmer they interact with to help our Nation. Prof. Rajdeep Singh Dhaliwal, Head Post Graduate Department of Agriculture, Khalsa College Patiala and Convener of this Orientation programme welcomed all the invited scientists and dignitaries in his welcome speech. In his Introductory remarks, Prof. Dhaliwal while expressing his views said that basic objective of this course is to give an overview of fertiliser sector related to production, use and marketing of Fertilisers in India to the students and faculty of the college. Dr. D.S. Yadav Director Marketing FAI presented the Key Note address on this occasion.

Dr. D.S. Yadav presented comprehensive talks on topics “Fertiliser Scenario in India” and “Fertiliser Use and Environmental quality: Myths and Reality”. N. K. Bhadu Additional General Manager (Marketing) KRIBHCO, Noida presented his talk on “Efficient Use of Fertilisers”. Shailender Singh Zonal Head, Marketing GSFC Lucknow presented a discussion based presentation on topic “Emerging Agri Business Opportunities”. In second technical session Bahadur Singh State Marketing Manager Punjab, IFFCO Chandigarh elaborated the ” Uses of water soluble Fertilisers in Agriculture”. V. K. Sharma Zonal Manager North, Yara Fertilisers Gurgaon explained “Fertiliser Distribution system in India”. All the students and faculty members of the department participated in this programme.
