School of Commerce and Management of G.S.S.D.G.S. Khalsa College Patiala organized one day International Workshop on “International Economic and Business Issues”.

The chief guest of the workshop were Dr. Biman Chand Prasad, Dr. Gurmeet Singh and Pramod Kumar from The University of South Pacific Fiji and Fiji Government. The workshop was organized to focus on the value education and to inculcate rich values and culture amongst the youth of the country.

Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal of the college welcomed the distinguished guests. While addressing he said that the motive behind the organisation of such workshop is to provide a platform to the students in order to acquaint them to contemporary business scenario. Interaction with such personalities helps to imbue up to date information among the students.

Dr. Biman Chand Prasad, is a Member Parliament, Fiji Government, leader of the National Federation Party, Planning and National Statistics, and Chairman of the Fijian Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee. He expressed his views and said that it is undeniable that India has ample power of youth but this power can only be channelized if Govt. of India invests more on education and health. He expressed his deep concern that the success of economic policies lies in the effective implementation of such policies.

Dr. Gurmeet Singh, is an eminent Professor in Management at School of Management and Public Administration, The University of the South Pacific, Fiji. He enlightened students and faculty with his valuable information regarding the implementation of “glocalisation” and the role of manpower for the success in business world. He also said how quality standards efficient management can be instrumental in the growth and development of the economy of the country.

Students from MBA, MLD and M.Com from School  of Commerce and Management attended the workshop with great enthusiasm. Students were curious to ask the questions from the experts.
