Lakhs of devotees participated in a Nagar Kirtan ; marks conclusion of three-day Jor Mel at Fatehgarh Sahib

The three day annual Shaheedi Sabha held in the memory of Mata Gujri ji, younger sahibzadas Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh concluded here on Saturday. To mark the concluding ceremony, a ‘Nagar Kirtan’ was taken out which started after performing the ardas, at 9 AM in the morning, by the head granthi, Gurdwara Shri Fatehgarh Sahib, in congregation from Gurdwara Shri Fatehgarh Sahib and culminated at Gurdwara Shri Jyoti Saroop Sahib. Lakhs of devotees participated in a Nagar Kirtan bought out on the last day of Jor Mel at Fatehgarh Sahib to pay homage to Mata Gujri, Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh.

The nagar kirtan was led by Panj Piaras. Students, NSS volunteers, school, college bands, gatka parties, Nihang Singhs, kirtani jathas, Sukhmani Sahib Sewa Societies and various social and religious leaders participated in the Nagar Kirtan. Nihang Singhs and gatka parties performed Gatka. Lakhs of devotees accompanied the Nagar Kirtan which started from Gurudwara Fatehgarh Sahib at 9 AM in the morning and culminated at around 1.00 PM at Gurudwara Jyoti Saroop Sahib , to mark an end of three day Jor Mel to commemorate the unmatched sacrifice of Mata Gujri, Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh.

Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee President Gobind Singh Longowal, Budha Dal Chief Baba Balbir Singh along with SGPC members and other dignitaries participated in the nagar kirtan.

Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib organised various activities like Cancer Care Camp, free Homeopathy and Physiotherapy camps, free Dastar training camp, exhibition of religious books, agro exhibition, Gatka performances, documentary shows in the Shaheedi Sabha from 26th to 28th December. To pay homage to the supreme sacrifice made by the younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Baba Zorawar Singh, Baba Fateh Singh and Mata Gujri Ji,

It is worth mentioning that with the help of World Cancer Care Charitable Society, England, the University organised a free Cancer-check-up camp under the guidance of Dr. Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal, in which the check-up of more than 1500 patients was done. Also, the valuable information regarding prevention and cure of the deadly disease of cancer was provided to the patients free of cost. In the physiotherapy and homeopathy camps, over 1000 patients were treated free of cost. Over 500 students participated in turban tying training camps. Apart from these activities and events, the University team also showed documentaries and films related to Sikhism to the pilgrims. Also, the agriculture department of the University organised an exhibition of agro products and harvesting machines for the benefit of farmers.
