Lohri was celebrated at Pespu International Public School With religious fervor and enthusiasm.
The Students were totally observed in the festive spirit of Lohri. The function started with speeches in English and Punjabi highlighting the importance of the festival of Lohri, which ushers in the cheerful spring season . The students sang songs immersed in rich cultural folklore of Punjab.
The school Chairman , Brij Mohan Gupta Ji along with all the staff lit the holy fire and groundnuts and sweets were distributed among the students. A colourful programme was held on this occasion, in which tiny tots, who were in Punjabi traditional attire, looking very pretty, presented poems while other students presented Punjabi ‘Boliyan’ Gidha, Bhangra and Lohri songs and poems.
The students danced around the holy bonfire and offered their prayers. The school Principal Sucharu Kaushal greeted the Pipsians and encouraged them to value their cultural heritage. He highlighted the importance of the festival.
