Lok Sabha elections: Punjab Govt declares Holiday under NA Act 1881

Keeping in view the Lok Sabha polls to be held on 1st June 2024 (Saturday) in the state of Punjab, 1st June will be a gazetted holiday for the government offices/boards/corporations/educational institutions located in the state. This holiday has also been declared under the Negotiable Instruments Act 1881.
According to the information given by the official spokesperson here today, 1st June will be a paid holiday under Section 135 B (1) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. This holiday has been declared for all employees employed in any business, trade, industry undertaking or any other establishment.
