Long pending industrialist’s major demand accepted by PSIEC

In a major relief and demand raised by thousands of plot owners in focal points of the state, Punjab Small Industries Export Corporation Limited (PSIEC) has allowed the plot holders to utilise up to 15% of the total covered area in the industrial building for housing staff without paying any conversion charges.
There are thousands of industrial plots in around 50 focal points across the state.
PSIEC officials said “considering the persistent demand of entrepreneurs and their representative bodies, and impact of Covid-19 pandemic, Punjab Small Industries Export Corporation Limited (PSIEC) has decided as a matter of policy to allow allottees of industrial plots to utilize upto 15% of the total covered area in the industrial building for the housing purpose of their staff or workers, in all the industrial Focal Points already developed/ being developed in the state of Punjab.”
Long pending industrialist’s major demand accepted by PSIEC. He further informed that ‘now, the allottees will not need to pay the conversion charges, but subject to the condition that they will adhere to the applicable zoning and building bylaws, as this facility has been allowed to the industrial plot holders, to utilize upto 15% of the total covered area”.
Industrialists feel happy, after this major decision taken by the state government as it was a long-pending demand of the industrialists.
